Caterham Press release follows - links to two videos at the bottom...
Caterham Cars made its debut at the Regent Street Motor Show this year (Saturday, October 31).
Caterham has never been a ‘cars on carpet’ exhibitor at shows and it approached this event no differently. Instead of simply displaying a car on the iconic London street, Caterham showcased its appeal as a car you can build at home by staging a live build of one of its legendary Sevens.
The challenge was that the one-day event meant that Caterham had to be in and out of its spot on Regent Street by 5pm, so the part-built car needed to be finished and ready to drive off the street by then. We set a crack team of Caterham technicians on to the task and gave them five and a half hours to complete the task.
Caterham Sevens in component form take roughly 80 man hours to build from scratch so it was always going to be a challenge, even for seasoned Caterham engineers. But it was clearly one they relished, as they completed the build and fired up the 135bhp, 1.6-litre Ford Sigma engine bolted into the chassis with 45 minutes to spare.
As one of the more interactive displays on Regent Street, Caterham’s stand was one of the most keenly attended by the thousands of visitors to the show and drew plenty of attention during the day.
There are two videos to choose from charting the Regent Street Motor Show live build:

The first Superlight Twenty Blog post!

Welcome to my new blog, created just to provide information on my new Caterham Superlight Twenty Kit as a build and ownership diary.

As a background to me personally, I have been a confirmed Caterham nut for over 25 years, and have been lucky enough to own a full range of Caterham models for the last 20 years.

I will post some background on these other Caterham's in due course, but first some more information  on the main subject of this blog - the new Caterham Superlight Twenty.

This is a brand new model for 2015 in the Caterham range, and is a return to the basic ethos that Colin Chapman created many years ago with his first creation of the Lotus Seven, and that is to simplify and add lightness.

Caterham announced this model at this years 2015 Goodwood Classic meeting, as it was felt that such a venue would provide a excellent introduction to the Superlight Twenty.

On the next page I will share with you the very first pictures we got to see of the car from the Goodwood Classic Show, but here is the link to the Caterham Cars promotion.
